Project summary:

Activities under the project
The project aimed at enhancing tourist potential of the cross-border area of Kyustendil and North-East region for sustainable utilization of the region's cultural and natural heritage, by presenting in an attractive way the common natural and historic heritage of the region, elaboration of 3D videos and their projection in the course of the road-show to complement the attractiveness of the whole region and increase the tourist flow. With the use of modern-day ICTs, the purpose was to make tourist attractions of the region recognised by the users of Internet and social media, enhancing cooperation opportunities among tourist stakeholders by providing meeting facilities, simultaneously serving as exhibition halls dedicated to the common natural, cultural and historical heritage of the area.
The project’s purpose was achieved through implementation of the following activities:

- Inventory and cataloguing of tourist sites in Kyustendil District and North-East region;
- Establishment of tourist exhibition halls on both sides of the border;
- Promotional 3D mapping videos of tourist sites in the region;
- 3D tourist promotional road show;
- Information and publicity measures.

Project Result
Tourist attractiveness of cultural, natural and historical sites in the cross-border area of Kyustendil and North-East region was advertised by means of innovative audiovisual products and ICT technologies. Cooperation opportunities among tourist stakeholders was enhanced by providing meeting facilities, simultaneously serving as exhibition halls dedicated to the common natural, cultural and historical heritage of the area. As a result of the project, the tourist potential of the cross-border area of Kyustendil and North-East region for sustainable utilization of the region's cultural and natural heritage was increased. 16 promotional videos presenting cultural and natural heritage of the target region were produced. 3 exhibition halls in 2 buildings in Bulgaria and in North Macedonia were renovated, equipped and made functional. The exhibition halls serve as tourist-related facilities for presentations and conference purposes.
